Proverbs 25:2 states, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

Mysteriously, God has chosen to reveal himself by first hiding himself. The creator of the universe is not immediately visible to us, but a close look at the Creation quickly reveals Him. “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” (Rom. 1:20)

Similarly, it is a deep and thorough study of the Scriptures which are required, if we are to truly know Him. “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalms 1:2)

A passing glance of the world around us and our Bibles will not reveal the one who has hid himself. Much like our savior, who spoke in parables, our Lord desires only those who might seek Him out with earnest and intentionality. Your glory is found in this searching, for the search will lead you only to Jesus Christ, the unveiled Creator, and the author of the Scriptures.
